India have produced nine Nobel prize winners since 1901 to 2024. First person in the list was Ravindra Nath Tagore. Other persons include in list CV Raman, Har Govind Khurana ,Mother Teresa, Subramanya Chandrashekhar, Amartya Sain, Venkatraman Ramakrishnan, Kailash Satyarthi. Each recognized remarkable contribution in their respected fields. 

The Nobel prize is most prestigious honor for a person or recognitions in the world for their contribution for mankind in various fields. The Nobel prize given in six fields like Physics, Chemistry, Medicine , Peace, Literature and Economics science. It is established by the will of Alfred Nobel a Swedish scientist , inventor.

The Nobel prize recognize a groundbreaking achievements  that have made remarkable impact in society at world level.

  1. Ravindra Nath Tagore(literature):-Ravindra Nath Tagore was the first Indian also first Asian person who win this award in 1913 in the literature category for his book GETANJALI
  2. CV. Raman (Physics):- He was famous scientist from physics in 1930 he won Nobel prize in Physics for discovery of Raman effect.
  3. Mother Teresa (Peace):- In 1979 this Honor given to her for her Remarkable work in Calcutta for poor persons whose suffering from leprosy.
  4. Subrahmanyam Chandrasekhar (Physics):-He was physics scientist and he done work regarding structure of stars hence he awarded this great Nobel in 1983.
  5. Amartya Sen(Economics Science) :- In 1998 for his contribution in welfare economics
  6. Venkataraman Ramakrishnan (Chemistry):- In 2009 for his work done on Ribosomes.
  7. Kailash Satyarthi (Peace) :- In 2014 For his work done on children's education and health.
  8. Abhijeet Banerjee(Economics):- In 2019 for his Remarkable work on global Poverty.
